Retail Dimensions, Inc. (RDI) has two customizations available in one package, Ship-it and Track-it. The customizations were designed and built for Retail Pro version 8 series with the goal of easing the pain of shipping and tracking customer shipments.
The customizations are configurable based on the shipper you are purchasing the customization for. The customization is configured to work with UPS WordShip® out of the box.
Ship-it
Ship-it imports and exports information between UPS WorldShip and Retail Pro eliminating the need for costly double entry of shipment information. There are three steps to the integration:
1. Ship-it will export from Retail Pro all new or changed Retail Pro sales orders from the last time the process was run and import the shipping information into UPS WorldShip.
2. The sales order information resides in UPS WorldShip until a sales order is fulfilled and ready to be shipped. To ship the order, the user enters the sales order number into UPS WorldShip retrieving the shipping information for that order.
3. As the order is shipped a package weight is entered and a UPS tracking number is generated. Ship-it will import the tracking numbers from all orders shipped since the last time the process was run into the corresponding sales orders in Retail Pro.
Track-it
RDI has developed a plug-in to Retail Pro that gives the user the ability to track shipments within the Retail Pro Interface for UPS, Fed-Ex, US Postal Service and DSL. The plug-installs a button on the side menu bar.
