Along with traditional store fronts, retailers today have quickly realized the business value of selling from a "Virtual Store" on the Internet. There is increasing demand that retail software packages contain integration between a web store and the core retail system.
The RPro-Web Integrator is a product that builds a connection between Retail Pro®(RPro) built by Retail Technologies International(RTI) to any Web store. Retail Pro is the leading point-of-sale and inventory management software used by specialty retailers worldwide. RTI has responded to the retailers growing need for web store integration to RPro, with a product called the ECI Merchandiser(ECI).
What does the ECI Merchandiser do? The ECI merchandiser provides a portal using TCP/IP polling that will export and import RPro data in an XML format. Through ECI, sales orders and new customers are imported from the web store into RPro. ECI also moves, item, customer and sales order status information from RPro to the web store.
ECI exposes the RPro system to the integration of data from a web store. However, because each retailer's website is likely to be unique, there is a middle component required that manages the communication between ECI and the web as well as formatting the RPro and web data to match.
The RPro-Web Integrator completes the loop Retail Dimensions has completed the ECI to web store integration with a combination of products and services. The product is the RPro-Web Integrator™ which manages the mapping and transfer of data between RPro and the web store. The services are the installation and configuration of the products on the retailers system along with the analysis and mapping to format the data properly between RPro and the web store.
