Kurt
Beekenis an 18 year technology industry veteran combining a broad background of technical and management experience with specific vertical market focuses. Kurt has the rare combination of having worked for and as a software publisher, spent years as a VAR for software publisher products and performed software selections and managed system implementations as a customer. He has worked extensively in several vertical markets including multi-store retail software, healthcare information systems and transportation. Starting in 1985 with AccuData systems developing and selling solutions to multi-store retailers, Kurt has worked with dozens of retailers around the country. In 1994, he left retail to join CTR Business systems a large West Coast consulting firm. CTR designed and built custom software applications, data warehousing and system integrations based on Microsoft technology coupled with being a VAR for Great Plains, Solomon and Epicor accounting software. Starting with a Business Solutions Group of four at CTR, Kurt grew BSG to a team of 55 being in the top 3 resellers in the world for Epicor accounting software. Kurt left CTR to pursue a career with Washington Publishing Company who publishes the EDI data standards for many vertical markets including but not limited to healthcare, retail and petroleum. He left in September of 2002 to enter back into the world of retail software performing software selections and managing system implementations. In January of 2004 he teamed with a past colleague Paul Duncan to form Retail Dimensions. They combine Kurt’s background in retail systems with Paul’s talents at development to provide software products and development services to multi-store retailers.
Kurt became and Retail Pro Certified Technician for the 8 series in late March of 2004.
Paul
Duncan is the Vice-President of Development. Paul brings over 18 years of business experience as a software developer and manger in the technology field. After moving from New Zealand in 1992 he has held various positions with software related companies and was part of the great Internet explosion in the late 90’s and the subsequent burst that followed.
In 1995 Paul joined CTR Business systems a large West Coast consulting firm. CTR designed and built custom software applications, data warehousing and system integrations based on Microsoft technology coupled with being a VAR for Great Plains, Solomon and Epicor accounting software. Paul joined Kurt Beeken in the Business Solutions Group at CTR, and helped grow the Software Development team providing world class integration solutions to customers throughout North America. After riding the Dot Com wave for a number of years with up to 13 developers in toe, he decided his passion was to get back to the providing economic and viable integration solutions for customers using today’s cost effective technologies.
In 2003 he was asked to provide integration services to a large multi store retailer based in Portland Oregon. After a successful deployment of the first custom e-Commerce integration with Retail Pro Point of Sale, he teamed up with a past colleague, Kurt Beeken to form Retail Dimensions. Since then he has continued leading the team of developers and designer on more than 200 varied projects including Website integration, Accounting integration and CRM integration projects with Retail Point of Sale products. Paul has recently completed training and certification for Retail Pro Version 9 Plug-in API. If Paul is not at work, he will enjoying life at home with his wife and 3 children, or getting away from it all at the beach house on the Oregon Coast.
